Carlos’ lifelong business dealings have given him a unique hands-on in-depth experience not typically taught in college or business schools; however, he is a proud graduate from the University of Puerto Rico Business School.
He started his career at the early age of 20 when he was appointed Deputy Special Assistant to the Governor of Puerto Rico. Later, he decided to pursue his “entrepreneurial spirit” and became a business owner opening a chain of gift and party retail stores in Puerto Rico. When he moved to Orlando, he continued his career in business and successfully ran a financial services office for over a decade.
In his tireless search for growth, Carlos ventured in the local timeshare industry and also owned several businesses, such as: restaurant operations, car repair franchise, community publications, and real estate sales and management. Coupled with his business savviness goes another passion, community service. Carlos co-founded Latino Leadership, the premier Latino community-based non-profit organization in Central Florida.
Currently, he is the president of the National Puerto Rican Leadership Council Economic Fund. This initiative emerged as a consensus between community leaders out of a need to promote education in diverse areas, such as economic, political, and civic participation and advancement among Puerto Ricans.
